Wooden Flooring

ELEGANCE MEETS DURABILITY
Wooden sports flooring is a hardwood playing surface laid over a shock-absorbing sub-floor, used for badminton courts, basketball courts and multipurpose halls. Classic Sports Infra installs two timbers: teak, which is dense and oil-rich so it resists Indian humidity, and maple, the lighter hardwood specified for most international badminton and basketball arenas. A complete system has four parts: a moisture barrier on the concrete slab, a resilient batten or rubber-pad sub-floor, tongue-and-groove hardwood strips sanded in stages, and a sports-grade polyurethane seal with line marking. A typical three-court badminton hall of about 3,500 sq ft is installed in three to five weeks. The floor suits indoor halls with a cured, level slab and controlled drainage. Recent installations include three teak courts at Channawar E Mandir, three courts for MSEB at Koradi, Nagpur and a 3,500 sq ft teak floor at the NIT Sports Complex, Swavlambi Nagar, Nagpur.
Hardwood sports floors built as a complete system
Classic Sports Infra designs and installs wooden sports flooring in India for badminton courts, basketball courts, multipurpose indoor halls, gyms and auditoriums. A sports floor is far more than planks on concrete: we build a moisture barrier, a resilient sub-floor of pads or battens, a plywood deck and finally the hardwood strips, sanded, sealed and line-marked for your sport.
The result is an area-elastic surface that absorbs impact, protects knees and ankles, returns energy to the player and gives the consistent ball bounce that coaches and tournament players expect. Our teak wood badminton courts at NIT Nagpur, MSEB Koradi and Channawar E Mandir are examples of this system in daily use.

Most popularTeak wood sports flooring
Naturally oily and dense, teak resists moisture, termites and wear, which makes it the dependable choice for badminton court flooring in India's humid climate. Its warm golden-brown grain gives halls a premium, club-house look.

Large halls, institutionsWhat a properly built wooden floor gives your players
Area-elastic shock absorption
The sub-floor flexes across a wide area, cutting impact loads on joints during jumps and lunges.
Consistent ball response
Uniform hardness means the same bounce in every corner of the court, match after match.
Grip without stickiness
A sports-grade finish gives sure footing for quick direction changes while allowing controlled slide.
Decades of service life
Hardwood can be re-sanded and re-sealed several times, far outlasting synthetic alternatives.
Built for Indian conditions
Moisture barriers and acclimatised timber keep the floor stable through monsoon and summer.
Low day-to-day upkeep
Dry mopping and periodic re-coating are all that is needed to keep the surface tournament-ready.

What is the cost of wooden sports flooring in India?
Wooden sports flooring is priced per sq ft and the rate changes from city to city, because timber, sub-floor materials and the installation team all travel to site and transport is a real part of the cost. Teak is the more economical hardwood; maple costs more. The other factors are hall size, sub-floor system and the condition of the slab. Share your city and hall dimensions and we will send an itemised quotation within a few days.
How long does a wooden badminton court take to install?
A three-court badminton hall typically takes three to five weeks from sub-floor to line marking: about one week for the moisture barrier and sub-floor, one to two weeks to lay and sand the hardwood, and one to two weeks for sealing coats to cure before marking. Base readiness and humidity decide where in that range a project lands.
Is teak or maple better for badminton?
Teak is the preferred choice in India for badminton because it handles humidity well and gives excellent grip. Maple is favoured for basketball and competition arenas where maximum hardness and a bright surface are needed.
How do I maintain a wooden sports floor?
Dry mop daily, damp mop weekly with a neutral cleaner, keep the hall ventilated and re-coat the finish every few years. We provide a care guide with every installation and offer maintenance visits.
Do you install wooden sports flooring outside Maharashtra?
Yes. We install wooden sports flooring across India, including Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Ahmedabad and Goa.
